Hoop Dynasty: Rise of a Legend has begun its limited Steam Playtest for Windows PC. Access requests are open on the game's Steam page, while invitations are issued a little at a time. A request does not guarantee immediate access. The Playtest is a working version of the single-player basketball career game, separate from the public demo planned for Steam Next Fest.
Players build one athlete's career rather than run an entire franchise. Preparation, development, relationships, contracts and pressure around the team affect the journey. On game day, they can follow the action in the Live 2D Match Center or advance through faster simulation, then respond to the result and their player's growth.
The first fixes are already available
The official Steam Playtest update dated September 19 records three concrete changes:
- Fixed an issue that could stop a new career from starting on PCs with certain time-zone settings.
- Date displays now follow the player's Windows regional format, independently of the game's language.
- Calendar loading and injury checks were optimized to reduce CPU work and memory allocations.
What happens during the Playtest
The team is using this staged rollout to study stability, save continuity, career pacing, the clarity of decisions and the flow of matches. Further performance work is in progress. Feedback from players with access will guide the next fixes; there is no promise that everyone requesting access will be admitted at once.
Stay close to the community
The official Discord is the place to follow patch news, share clear bug reports and suggestions, and speak with other players and the developer. Joining Discord, requesting Playtest access and adding the game to a Steam Wishlist are separate actions. Discord membership does not guarantee selection.
Playtest and festival demo
The current Playtest is a limited feedback stage. The planned Steam Next Fest demo is a separate release and should not be confused with Playtest access. The game currently supports English and Italian.
