Hoop Dynasty: Rise of a Legend will begin its first private Playtest by the end of August 2026. The initial wave of access will be distributed through the official Discord community, giving early players the opportunity to test the career experience before the project moves toward its public Steam Next Fest demo.
The Playtest, Steam Wishlist, and future public demo are separate paths. Joining Discord does not automatically grant access, and wishlisting the game is not required to be considered for the Playtest.
What the first Playtest is designed to validate
The first wave focuses on the connected systems behind the game’s basketball career simulation, from preparation and game day to progression, relationships and long-term world memory.
- Career stability, save continuity, pacing, and progression.
- RPG choices, character development, role, reputation, and economy.
- Game-day preparation, the Live 2D Match Center, and post-game growth.
- Long-term world memory across contracts, teams, media, records, and relationships.
Road to Steam Next Fest
The private Playtest is an early quality stage, not the final Steam Next Fest demo. Feedback from the first wave will help prioritize stability, clarity, and the complete playable slice being prepared for the October festival.
Development approach
Hoop Dynasty is independently directed and built around simulation, database, career, and world systems developed over several years. AI-assisted tools help accelerate selected visual and UX workflows and support QA stress testing, while the game direction, rules, systems, implementation decisions, and final asset selection remain human-led.

Hoop Dynasty: Rise of a Legend is a single-player basketball career RPG for Windows PC. Players create a prospect, make career-defining choices, compete through the Match Center, manage growth and relationships, and build a legacy inside an original world that remembers what they do. The game uses fictional teams, leagues, players, awards, and identities and is not affiliated with real leagues, teams, or athletes.
